Promoting financial education through the Delaware Money School

The times, they are a changin’.
We live in the economic shadow of corporate scandals like Enron & WorldCom, and in an age of under-funded pension plans.
One of the toughest challenges out there facing everyday citizens is how to survive in the new economy.

Delaware State Treasurer Jack Markell believes the future lies in financial literacy.
That’s why he’s supported programs like the Delaware Financial Literacy Institute, a non-profit organization whose mission is to help individuals – especially those of low and moderate income – become equipped with the tools to get their financial lives in order so that they can be self-sufficient and enjoy financial well-being over time.
One of the ways the DFLI accomplishes this mission is through the Delaware Money School. Visit their website or better yet, register to take some of their more than 90 free classes statewide, all of which are taught by volunteer analysts, financial planners, and other financial professionals.
