The 10 Best Places To Live In Delaware
The First State of affairs in finding these rankings was to gather up all of the places in the state with populations larger than 5,000 residents, which left a rather small list of 19 places to work with. From there, the following seven criteria were applied to each place:
Total amenities Quality of life (cost of living, median home price, median rent, median household income, and student-to-teacher ratio) Total crimes Tax rates (sales tax and income tax) Unemployment Commute time Weather (temperature and air quality)
Movoto Real Estate ranked each place from 1 to 19 in each of the criteria above, with 1 being the best possible score. After that, they averaged each ranking for an overall Big Deal Score, with the lowest score being the winner.
Research was based on the facts: things like education, income, and weather. More on that in a moment; for now, here are the 10 best places in Delaware:
1. City of Newark
2. City of Dover
3. CDP of Hockessin
3. City of New Castle
5. CDP of Pike Creek
6. Town of Elsmere
6. CDP of Edgemoor
8. CDP of Glasgow
8. CDP of Wilmington Manor
8. CDP of North Star
Normally top 10 lists tend to go from one to 10, but in the case of Delaware many of the places had similar information, resulting in several ties!
