M&T Bank Corporation and Wilmington Trust Corporation announced jointly today that they have entered into a definitive agreement under which Wilmington Trust will merge with M&T, forming one of the largest and strongest banks in the eastern United States, a national leader in wealth management and a premier global provider of financial services to corporate clients.
