Since taking office in January of 2009, Governor Markell has led our state through its worst recession in generations. During the first two legislative sessions of his governorship, Delaware faced significant budgetary shortfalls. Now, as he nears the end of his third legislative session as Governor, Delaware finds itself with a greater than $300 million surplus. Governor Markell has chosen to employ that surplus for job creation and has unveiled a three-part jobs plan called “Building Delaware’s Future Now”.
