Innovations in Clean Technology are happening in Delaware in a big way! Cleantech encompasses a diverse range of products, services, and processes that harness solar and wind energy, use renewable raw materials, and dramatically reduce or eliminate emissions and waste. This TechForum DE event will feature cutting-edge research from the University of Delaware on electric vehicles that can return power to the grid, and the latest in Motech’s solar cell design and deployment.

Dr. Willett M. Kempton
Director, Center for Carbon-free Power Integration
University of Delaware

Professor Kempton is a nationally renowned expert in two renewable energy fields: offshore wind power and electric vehicles. He has pioneered vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology and designed cars capable of absorbing excess energy when demand for power is low and returning some back to the electric grid when the demand for power is high. Motech Americas, LLC

Motech Americas is the U.S. subsidiary of Motech Industries (Taiwan) which is the 5th largest photovoltaic (solar) manufacturer in the world. Motech’s Technology Center of Excellence for module design and development resides in Delaware. Mr. Colarusso entered the solar industry in 2008 when he joined General Electric’s Solar Technology team as a Six Sigma Black Belt. In 2010, Motech Industries purchased the Newark, DE location from GE and he assumed his current role. Read more.
