Internet Tax Freedom

Yesterday, a bi-partisan bill was introduced that proposes to ban three types of Internet taxation:

  • Taxes on Internet Access
  • Multiple taxation by two or more states of a product or service bought on the Internet
  • Taxes that treat Internet purchases differently from other types of taxes
  • The current Internet tax moratorium is set to expire in 2007.

Legislation like this is extremely important for making the United States a competitive, progressive place to do business.
Online business owners and e-commerce in general stands to win big by making the Internet more available to consumers.

“It’s important that we take a stand right here and now to make sure that we say that the United States of America and the Internet will be a no-tax zone, now and forever,”

    – Senator George Allen (R) Virginia

    Amen!
