Collaborating for Christmas: Hagley Collects Items for the Sunday Breakfast Mission

Hagley Museum and Library honors the spirit of community giving by partnering with the Sunday Breakfast Mission. Hagley encourages visitors to bring a new, unwrapped toy or clothing item to donate. Hagley thanks the community by extending free admission to children fourteen and under during the month of December and on Sunday, January 1, 2012. Items will be collected in the Visitor Center at Hagley during operating hours.

“This partnership marks the return to tradition and fulfilling a deep level of mission,” says Hagley Executive Director Geoff Halfpenny. “The du Pont Family has a long history of philanthropy in our community and we are proud to continue it.”

A special presentation at Hagley by Sunday Breakfast Mission Director Reverend Tom Laymon and Hagley Executive Director Geoff Halfpenny on Sunday, December 4, at 3 p.m., will kick-off “Collaborating for Christmas.” A performance by the Sunday Breakfast Mission Men’s Choir will follow. Hagley and the Sunday Breakfast Mission invite the community to attend.

The “Christmas at Hagley” exhibit is on display in Eleutherian Mills from Friday, November 25, through Sunday, January 1, 2012. Each weekend features family activities and brunch at the Belin House Organic Café.
