First State Manufacturing Receives National Recognition from SBA

FSMFThe U.S. Small Business Administration has announced that Sher and Eli Valenzuela, owners of First State Manufacturing, have been named as the State, Regional and National winners for SBA (8 a) Graduate of 2015.

Growing from humble beginnings in 1998 with nothing more than a one car garage and single sewing machine, First State Manufacturing has become one of the most successful manufacturers of its size in the state, region and nation. Providing quality upholstery and cut and sew services to the U.S. military, municipalities and a wide array of commercial customers, First State Manufacturing has earned its reputation for providing solutions that solve the challenges its customers face, and in the process saving countless millions of US taxpayer dollars by providing on time delivery and best value products. Dr. Michael Casson, Director for the University Center of Economic Development and International Trade (UCEDIT) at Delaware State University, nominated the manufacturer. Last week the Valenzuela’s met with Governor Jack Markell to receive the State Tribute, and will travel to Washington DC on May 8 to meet with White House dignitaries and receive their national honor.
