Kaufmann FastTrac for the Veteran Entrepreneur Initiative Continues in 2014 at Delaware Tech

Delaware Technical Community College announced that it plans to extend in 2014 its highly successful 2013 Kauffman FastTrac Veterans Initiative, which delivered the course to close to a dozen U.S. military veterans interested in starting and growing their own companies.

This year’s training initiative will be held on Thursday evenings from 6 – 9 pm, from September 25 until December 11, 2014. The course is supported by the Delaware Economic Development Office and Kauffman FastTrac, and will be offered at a reduced cost of just $49 (a value of $800).

The FastTrac New Venture course, developed by Kauffman FastTrac, is designed to help veterans transition into the civilian workforce by equipping them with the information and knowledge necessary to launch a business. This is a hands on, practical class that is nationally recognized and will help with obtaining funding for a startup business.

“The Kauffman Certificate is an investment into their future” says Dave Hall one of the instructors for the class. According to a recent study by the SBA, more than 45% of veterans start businesses after their military careers end.

“We are proud to offer this course to area veterans,” says Paul T. Morris, Jr., director of Corporate and Community Programs at the Stanton/Wilmington Campus of Delaware Tech. “Delaware Tech is committed to meeting the needs of our community, and veterans are an important audience. We believe this course will help veterans to be successful entrepreneurs by building on the skills they already possess.”
