Polsinelli Brings in Seasoned Business Litigator To Expand East Coast Capabilities

Polsinelli welcomes R. Montgomery (Monty) Donaldson as a shareholder to its national Financial and Fiduciary Litigation Practice. Donaldson is a seasoned veteran who provides consultation and litigation services in both boardrooms and courts, including the widely respected Delaware Court of Chancery. He will practice out of the firm’s Wilmington, Delaware office and nationally in a variety of industries.

“Monty brings a wealth of litigation and business experience to our growing national litigation capabilities,” said Financial and Fiduciary Litigation Practice Chair Robert Henderson. “We look forward to collaborating with Monty who not only is a highly respected litigator but brings a business-minded approach to problem solving.”

Donaldson’s practice focuses on business counseling and litigation, with an emphasis on matters involving complex business transactions, corporate governance, securities, and special proceedings under the Delaware General Corporation Law and alternative entity laws. His practice also involves commercial litigation in the context of joint venture disputes, attempts to pierce the corporate veil, contract disputes, business torts arising in the context of asset sales and other business transactions, and consumer fraud and product liability class actions filed throughout the United States.

“Polsinelli’s deep litigation bench and the breadth of its business consultation and transactional services are what initially attracted me to the firm,” said Donaldson. “More subtly but equally important, the firm’s team culture, commitment to excellence, and strategic vision cause me to be very enthusiastic about being part of the fastest growing law firm in the country.”

Donaldson earned his law degree from Dickinson School of Law where he was a senior editor of the Dickinson Law Review. He earned his B.A. from Bucknell University, where he also pursued post-graduate research in neuropsychology.

He joins Polsinelli during an exciting time. The American Lawyer Magazine in its June 2013 issue recognized Polsinelli as the fastest-growing law firm in America.* Recently the firm moved up to the #93 position in the AmLaw 100. In 2013, the firm moved up to the 69th position in The National Law Journal’s ranking of the largest U.S. based law firms.

Donaldson brings substantial litigation depth to the Wilmington office which was founded on bankruptcy and financial services but now includes a broad spectrum of litigation and corporate counseling.
