Learn Why and How to START A BUSINESS!

The U.S. Small Business Administration and AARP are again teaming up to host National Encore Entrepreneur Mentor Month targeting entrepreneurs over the age of 50.

  • Building on last year’s successful strategic alliance, the two organizations provided nationwide mentoring and training to over 119,000 individuals.
  • Throughout April, SBA district offices, state AARP offices and SBA resource partners will host more than 100 events (workshops, conferences, seminars, etc.) around the country.
  • These high-powered events will feature “speed mentoring” where entrepreneurs and mentors share best practices and advice from successful small businesses.
  • For many 50+ individuals, entrepreneurship training is the toolkit that empowers them to use their experience, knowledge, and skills to become job creators.
In addition, entrepreneurship training focuses on helping experienced professionals apply their career knowledge for a new business venture.
Mentor Month is an opportunity for SBA and its partners to leverage AARP’s network to introduce current and future encore entrepreneurs to available resources.
It is also an opportunity for AARP to expose interested members to SBA’s resources available to help them starting and growing a business.
