North American Principals for Electronic Commerce Established

Ever hear of the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America?

Way back on March 23, 2005, the leaders of Canada, Mexico and The United States got together and established the SPP in an effort to work together to among other things, advance the common prosperity of each country.

Last week, they met and established the Framework of Common Principles for Electronic Commerce.

INTRODUCTION
The Department of Industry of Canada, the Ministry of the Economy of the United Mexican
States, and the Department of Commerce of the United States of America (hereinafter
referred to as the “Participants”) recognize the crucial role electronic commerce plays in
stimulating economic growth and fostering international trade.

It seems like there is a strong desire to build on the economic success that NAFTA has made possible, and to make e-commerce a secure and profitable venue for continuing international trade.

This is good for business.
