Delaware Nonprofit Forum #1: Getting and Keeping Great Board Members

Everyone involved with non-profits recognizes the importance of building a Board who are happy, dedicated and involved. Now that we know that how do we make it happen, those steps are not so obvious.

The process of obtaining and retaining strong and committed Board members is ongoing. On April 26th , join Bonny Anderson, MSS, Managing Director of MacIntyre Associates as she facilitates a lively presentation and discussion around this topic.

We will cover:

  • Translating your mission passionately;
  • Identifying promising candidates;
  • Balancing the mix of skills on a Board;
  • Being clear about requirements for Board service;
  • Governance vs. management for effective partnerships
  • Who fundraises?
  • Organizational structure to fit the mission
  • Term limits- who needs them, who uses them?

    Bring your questions and experiences to add to the conversation. What has worked for you? Where have you gotten stuck?

    We can all learn from each other so come and share.

    In addition to the stated agenda NCCCC will give you a sneak preview of a new initiative we are undertaking to support non-profits in their search for Board members that “fit”.
