Yesterday, Delaware Insurance Commissioner Matt Denn announced that he would not approve a proposed rate increase in workers compensation insurance rates. He indicated that a proposal which cut the applied for base rate increase from between 9.1 and 10.2 % to an increase between 7.1 and 8.1% would be approved.

The application to increase rates was submitted by the Delaware Compensation Ratings Bureau on behalf of all companies that sell workers comp insurance in the State of Delaware.
